I. Installing and Running the program

To run the application, you'll need a Java Virtual Machine version 1.4 or 5
(1.5) already installed in your computer. If you don't have one, you can
download it from http://www.java.com The application doesn't have any
installer to run. Once it has been downloaded, unzip it in your desired
folder. The executable file is prbeditor-xxxx.jar, where xxxx is the version
of the applicacion you downloaded. In MS Windows OS it should be enough to
double click this file to run the application, but sometimes this system
doesn't work. In this case and for other operating systems, the application
can be started from the command line with the following command:

<Java VM install directory>/bin/java -jar prbeditor-xxxx.jar [file-to-open]

The aplication saves its configuration files in the working folder, and
that usually is the folder from where you started the application. You can
have multiple configurations if you run the application from different
folders.

All the development is done in Windows XP OS and I can do some testing from
time to time in Linux. Though a Java application is said to be portable, this
is often not true. So I suppose the application will be less stable in other
OSs

II. Uninstalling

To uninstall the application, just remove the downloaded and unzipped
files along with the configuration files.

III. Dictionaries

The application comes with no dictionaries. These must be downloaded
and installed separately. You can do so from the main web site or through
the application preferences form, spell-checker section. From this section
the application can connect to the main web site, retrieve a list of
available dictionaries and automatically download and install them. Some
dictionaries, once installed, may take up more then 100 MB, despite the
downloaded file is only 3 MB long. That's because the original file is
transformed in search of better memory footprint and performance.

IV. Feedback

Please, help improve this application by reporting any problems, suggestions
or improvements you come up with. You can do so from the application's
main web site https://prbeditor.dev.java.net or by sending an email to
