An item represents a billable or non-billable part of a project. Items can be services or expenses.

A service is something that you do for a client at a certain rate and can be billed in hours or in units. A service could be three hours of programming, ten pages of Greek text translated to Latin or twenty hours of subcontracted writing. Everything that you sell or resell for a profit can be recorded in Fanurio as a service.

A time entry represents the time spent doing something for a service. A service usually requires work that spans over multiple days which means that it will have more than one time entry.
